Prof. Dr. İdil IŞIK’s academic specialism lies in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, with a focus on the safety and health of workers in industrial and traffic environments, as well as quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods research techniques. She directs this expertise and focus towards natural, technical or psychosocial risks that can influence the flow of work within organisational processes and leave traces at the individual, group or organisational level. One of her current projects is the TUBİTAK 1001-funded “Development of a Flexible Work Management System Project” and the “Psychosocial Health and Safety at Work Project”, supported by the EU’s Occupational Health and Safety Improvement Grant Programme. Most recently, she managed the TUBİTAK 1001-funded “Psychosocial Safety in Sport Project”, which was launched in July 2022 and is due to be completed on 31 May 2024.
She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Boğaziçi University, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in the Organisational Behaviour programme at Marmara University. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Social Psychology in 2017. Between 2010 and 2023, she served as a lecturer and director of the Organisational Psychology Master’s Programme at Istanbul Bilgi University. On 1 December 2023, she was appointed Professor in the field of Organisational Psychology and commenced her role at the Department of Psychology at Bahçeşehir University. For nearly 30 years, she has worked as a consultant, trainer and content developer on consultancy, training and corporate social responsibility projects aimed at academic and professional audiences. She channelled this experience into establishing PRISMA – the Institute for Psychosocial Risk Management Health and Consultancy Ltd. in August 2020, structuring it as a service for organisations. Thus, the foundation was laid for the Psychosocial Risk Management Institute, which will operate in the fields of Organisational Psychology and Clinical Psychology. She founded the Association of Industrial, Organisational and Occupational Psychologists on 27 October 2023 and assumed the role of founding president.
